A community for Wannabe Entrepreneurs
Follow the story of Tiago and how he is building a community for supporting bootstrappers.
Tiago is a software developer turned Indie Hacker. He quit his job in June 2021 to focus 100% on bootstrapping his projects.
He loves the indie hacking community and he has been focusing on building content and tools to help bootstrappers reach their dream MRR.
When he is not hacking he is either traveling, sailing, or watching Netflix
Would you like to tell me a bit more about the projects you are working on?
I have not reached ramen yet, so I am still burning my savings. My MRR is $500 at the moment but I end up making a little bit more with the guide.
My main project is definitely the WBE space. A community for bootstrappers where makers share their journey and support each other. We have a slack channel, events, random coffees, etc.
Then I recently launched my first info-product. Which is a step-by-step guide to help people build their projects and increase their chances of success
And last but not least I have my podcast where I narrate my own indie journey and interview other makers about theirs
Can you share the journey of how you reached this MRR?
It started growing in April with a few new people joining. Also at that time, I increased the price of the community from 5 to 10 dollars per month. A few of the members decided to start paying the new more expensive price even though it was not required. They just wanted to support the community!
Any challenges or failures you might have until now?
Tons... The challenge is definitely to bring people to the website. A lot of the work is creating content on Twitter, IH, etc...
How do you solve this problem?
I am still trying to solve it, but so far what has been working better has been Twitter and IH. I have also been investing in SEO
.
Here are my top sources for the past 30 days.
Do you have any resources for new indie hackers that you'd like to recommend?
I have written a guide based on everything I have learned from my podcast.
I have the podcast (which is free)
And the community
